Ecole Sainte Rita: A Legacy of Vision and Education
Ecole Sainte Rita is a school located in Gasabo district, Bumbogo Sector, a few meters ahead of AZAM. It has Nursery and Primary sections. It started with 25 students in 2018 and now has 350 students in both sections with a school motto: “Education est la fondation de la culture et de la science.”
Ecole Sainte Rita stands as a testament to the enduring power of dedicated educators and a commitment to holistic student development. Founded by a collective of ten passionate teachers known as “Teachers’ Vision,” the school's genesis lies in a shared belief in the transformative potential of education and a desire to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.

History of Sainte Rita of Cascia
St. RITA PATRONNE SAINTE OF THE IMPOSSIBLE
Sainte Rita of Cascia, born on May 22, 1381, in Roccaporena, Italy, was an Italian widow and Augustinian nun known for her deep faith and devotion. Forced into marriage with a violent husband, she influenced him to change, but he was later murdered. Choosing forgiveness, she encouraged her sons to do the same. After their deaths, she joined the community in Cascia, dedicating her life to prayer and service. She received a mystical wound symbolizing Christ’s suffering. She died in 1457 and was canonized in 1900, becoming the Patronne Sainte of impossible causes and reconciliation.
The reason we named our school Ecole Sainte Rita is to honor Sainte Rita of Cascia, a symbol of faith, perseverance, and resilience. Sainte Rita is widely known as the Patronne Sainte of impossible causes, reconciliation, and peace, values that we strive to instill in our students. By bearing her name, our school reflects her spirit of forgiveness, dedication, and unwavering faith, encouraging students to face challenges with courage and determination. Special Revision for Upper Primary
To prepare students for academic success, especially in the final years of primary education, Sainte Rita organizes special revision sessions for Primary Five and Primary Six every Saturday.
